Oraye St. Franklyn, former Senior Special Assistant on Social Media to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has again dumped Apc for the Main Opposition party PDP.

This is coming barely a year the social media influencer resigned his position as Gov Wike’s SSA On Social Media.

Oraye who was appointed on the 5th of November, 2015 as the Senior Special Assistant on Social Media resigned his position on March 12 2021 in a letter addressed to the Gov.

The letter partly reads, “The last four years were a period of great trials for all Rivers people as, indeed, it was of cherished accomplishments for the greatest number of our people on the strength of your sterling leadership. For me, it was a remarkable opportunity to stand in defense of my belief in democracy.

“I feel privileged to have been able to contribute modestly, in support of your patriotic stance for our people, at ensuring our dear Rivers State never became a conquered territory.

“Your re-election was enunciated on the strength of our collective success and made effective ultimately by God’s grace.

“Having been part of our success story, I wish to now step down from my position as Senior Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Social Media.

After which he was seeing Criticising the Government of his Formal Boss in the State.

Oraye who later joined the Ruling All progressive Congress APC was drafted into several Committees including the secretary of publicity committee at the just concluded Rivers State Apc Special Thanksgiving in the State and Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s Campaign were he functioned.

Speaking with Oraye, the Former SSA, he debunked the information describing it as “Fake News” said he hasn’t left the Former Minister, Mr. Amaechi neither has he returned to Gov. Wike rather he is just their to support his Bosom friend Mr. Siminialayi Fubara, the Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the State.

” Well, I want to believe that those saying this are doing so out of ignorance. I can’t remember saying anywhere of leaving Amaechi neither have i returned anywhere.

“I supported Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi without regrets and I will do it again a thousand times over if the opportunities present themselves. I believe in his candidacy and know what it would do for Nigeria. I don’t even regret my personal losses as a result of that support. It comes with the turf.

“Anyone who had a direct conversation with me from the highest levels of the APC to membership was never in doubt about where I stood on the issue of Governorship of Rivers State.

“I was pleasantly thrilled by the outcome of the Rivers State PDP Governorship Primary that threw up our friend Mr. Siminialayi Fubara as the Party’s Candidate.

“Our friendship with Fubara, as we call him, dates back in history while he diligently carried on his duties as a Civil Servant, in his characteristic unassuming way. I support his bid to be Governor of Rivers State for many reasons.

“For a defining election as the 2023 General Elections, which would definitely not be business as usual, it is important for us citizens to know those who will benefit from our support. Personally, I am not one to continue the tradition of supporting individuals simply based on partisan affiliation. That ended in 2019. Political Parties don’t solve problems. Competent leaders do. And we need to solve real problems in Nigeria before this country collapses on our heads.

“This is why it is more important to support leaders who are known, competent, approachable and have deep roots in communities as well as across the political landscape to understand the perculiar challenges that confront citizens.

“I boldly declare that I know Fubara. I know him to be measured, genuinely compassionate, mature and equipped for governance. Fubara has about twenty years of direct public service experience to his credit and understands the peculiar challenges Rivers State, beginning with the Civil Service, his immediate and professional constituency.

“I believe this places him in an advantageous position to deliver on governance whilst upgrading the Civil service and improving the working conditions and experiences of Civil Servants of Rivers State.

“I believe Fubara will be an improvement of our past experiences. He is also well known in political and public service circles as a calm but determined goal-getter. He’s the sort of guy who will consciously advance development and improve the fortunes of human beings (young people especially) beyond infrastructural exploits. The truth is: he has a point to prove in this regard”. He said.
