A Pan Ikwerre group, the Ikwerre Youth Movement International (IYM) has faulted a query from its Ijaw counterparts, known as Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC) warning them to stop distracting the “Minister for Transportation, Rt.Hon. Chibuihe Rotimi Amaechi.

The Ikwerre Youth Movement in a statement signed by its director of publicity, Dr. Dike Bekwele said the IYC query on Amaechi is childish and unacceptable.

The Ijaw youth had earlier querried the minister of transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his silence on the non constitution of the NDDC Board, a development the Ikwerre youth body described as reckless.

IYM further stated that Amaechi is not a noise maker and should be allowed to concentrate on the job assigned to him by the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, adding that it is the prerogative of Mr President to constitute a new body for the NDDC,* taking into account the rot at the commission as evident in the forensic report submitted to him.

IYM further stated that the Ijaw youths are economical with the truth as the minister has been an advocate of power rotation in Rivers State.

“You don’t talk like child, a man who doesn’t know what happened before he was born is to remain a child”. Amaechi supported and sponsored the emergence of an Ijaw Governor in 2015, yet the Ijaw youths preferred another ikwerre candidate in 2019, he supported the emergence of another Ijaw, yet the Ijaw youth all went to sleep ,in 2023.

Amaechi has again thrown its weight to the emergence of Rivers Governor, of Ijaw extraction and yet you are speaking from both sides of the mouth, please put your house together and support Amaechi’s quest for an Ijaw Governor..

IYM is a Pan Ikwerrre Youth group representing the four Ikwerrre speaking local government areas in Rivers State.
