Job Title: CONTRACT & PROCUREMENT LEAD

Job Summary:

The incumbent will work to ensure that contracting and procurement in this business area is fully aligned with good industry practice and designed to assure optimised sourcing, contact execution and a consistent approach to contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Operate within a fit for purpose C&P Technical unit that meets the needs and demands of the business.
  • Deliver commercial excellence in the sourcing and execution of services, goods & materials based on Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Implement processes, methodologies, and tools to embed proper C&P roles.
  • Implement a category management programme in the execution of integrated work plans and aggressively execute a programme to rationalise contracts and suppliers.
  • Engage with business Managers and Team Leads within the business areas to ensure alignment and value delivery.
  • Manage compliance with C&P policy, Code of Conduct, HSSE and other standards in the C&P process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of 3rd party spend within the Function.
  • Ensure regular input into and maintenance of the department’s information databases e.g., Contract and Procurement Plan, Supplier Information Management System, Cost Savings Tracking tool, Expediting Status Reporting tool, etc.
  • Initiate and manage the supplier engagement process including embarking on prequalification exercises (both desktop and physical visits).
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements as it affects C&P processes.

  • Puts safety first in all company transactions in accordance with Safety policies and ensures that others comply in order to protect people, the environment, assets and company reputation in company operations.
  • Understands the Corporate vision of the company and knows how personal contributions help to achieve it.
  • Identifies Corporate business opportunities and promptly takes advantage of them to the benefit of the company.

Requirements:

  • BSc or HND in any Engineering discipline, Supply Chain, Business, or other related field and with more than eighteen years practical and working experience in Oil & Gas facilities.
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas HSE policies and practices.
  • Quality communication skills.
  • Experience in technical report writing.
  • Experience in documentation.
  • Knowledge of Drilling and Well Engineering operations.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Construction/Major Projects.
  • Knowledge of Subsurface Engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in development and management of Major EPC/EPIC/EPCM contracts.
  • Experience in development and management of contracts required for Drilling campaigns.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of oil & gas industry construction standards and codes such as International Electrical Code (IEC), American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), etc.
