RSG Moves To Rebrand IAUE, Ndele Campus.

The Rivers State Government is set to rebrand Ndele Campus of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Port Harcourt.

Acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Okechuku Onuchuku, made this known during the statutory Senate meeting held at the Postgraduate Hall of the institution, Wednesday.

The acting vice chancellor, who is also the chairman of Senate, further disclosed that the state government would also build staff quarters to ease the accommodation challenges of staff, in addition to the brand new Ndele campus.

He enumerated the benefits of attracting funds and the need to better the system, and advised the Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education to key into the vision by showcasing what the faculty is capable of doing for investors to come in.
Emphasising on partnerships with industries,

“When universities make discoveries through research, industries can fund it, with the researcher and institution becoming beneficiaries through commercialization, as well as government through taxation”.
He encouraged lecturers to concentrate on research works that are aimed at solving challenges in order to earn awards, emphasising that there are several subject matters to write about in the Niger Delta region.
The acting VC also harped on the need for staff to do the right thing and not be greedy, saying

“those who think that they have excess power should always consult with their senior colleagues before taking decisions”. He Said.
