Comrade Markus Luka, a staunch supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Nasarawa State, was apprehended by security operatives suspected to be from the Department of State Services, DSS, on Sunday morning.
The arrest took place in the premises of a church in Agyaragu Tasha, a community in Lafia Local Government Area of the state.
Auta GratefulHeart EssyWealth, a Facebook user, confirmed the incident on Sunday afternoon.
The reasons behind Luka’s arrest are still unknown.
However, sources suggest that over a month ago, he had voiced concerns on Facebook about the future of Nasarawa State if what he referred to as ‘stolen mandate’ was not returned to the rightful owner.
In his social media posts, Luka asserted that David Ombugadu of the PDP won the 2023 gubernatorial election in Nasarawa State.
He urged the judiciary to affirm Ombugadu’s victory for the sake of peace in the state.
