The Rivers State Government have been allegedly reported to have rejected twenty Trucks of Relief Materials From the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA to Rivers State Flood Victims.

According to a Post made my an indigene of Ahoada West local Government Area of Rivers State, Mrs Opem Iwo said She was contacted by the Agency and was informed that the Relief materials have been in the State for the past two weeks.

She Wrote ” So I got the attention of NEMA federal, they called informing me that I will be contacted by Rivers State branch, in few minutes I got a call asking me to come to their office immediately, I left everything I was doing and went to meet them.

People of God do you know that for the past two weeks federal government sent 20 trucks of relief materials? The Rivers State government has refused to go and sign and receive it, the food stuffs and other items are just cooling off at the wayhouse , see how they are playing politics with humans life,

But the good news is by Monday NEMA will start distributing the materials to the flood-affected LGAs, with or without the state government, being fully involved, today we went on the inspection with some troops of the Nigerian Navy.

Recall that the Governorship Candidate of Accord Party In Rivers State, Dumu lulu-Briggs had earlier condemned the action by the Rivers State Government rejecting him to Offer relief Materials to the IDPS in Rivers State without the endorsement of the The Governor.

He said” I was rejected entrance into the Camps cause when I visited the Orashi Region with 4 fully loaded trucks of Relief Materials by the Local Government Chairman of Ahoada West and East because there was no letter from the State Government mandating me from entering the camp to give out materials”.
