(Africa), Governor of Rivers State and Visitor to Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Port
Harcourt, for recruitment of Staff; the Management of the Polytechnic hereby invites applications
from suitably qualified persons for appointment into the following vacant
positions below
- Engineer
- Supervisor/superintendent
- Physical Planning Officer

Qualifications
i. Engineer 11 – CONTEDISS 08
Candidate must possess a good registererable Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum of Second Class Honours Lower Division) in relevant Engineering Discipline, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and must be computer literate.
ii. Supervisor/Superintendent – CONTEDISS 06
Candidate must possess a recognized National Diploma at credit level in relevant
Science/Engineering discipline or City and Guilds Final Certificate, National Diploma,
NCE (Technical) or NABTEB (Advance) in relevant technical field and must be
computer literate.
iii. Physical Planning Officer -CONTEDISS 08
Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Architecture from a recognized University, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate;
registered with the relevant professional body and must be computer literate.
iv. Quantity Surveyor 11 – CONTEDISS 08
Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying from a recognized University and NSYC discharge or exemption certificate. Candidates must be computer literate and have membership of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and/or Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
v. Builder 1 – CONTEDISS 08
Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Building or Building Technology from a recognized higher institution and register able with the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), Membership of the Nigeria Institute of Builders (NIB)
and NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
vi. Procurement Officer 11 – CONTEDISS 08
Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance, Purchasing and Supply or any other relevant discipline and
NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
vii. Motor Driver – CONTEDISS 03
Candidate must have FSLC or Secondary or Junior Secondary School certificate or
its equivalent with a valid class C Driver’s License or Government Trade Test 111
and satisfactory post qualification driving experience.
viii. Motor Driver/Mechanic 11 – CONTENDISS 03
Candidate must have FSLC, Secondary or Junior Secondary School Certificate or its
equitant with a valid class C Driver’s license plus Government Trade Test 111 Motor Mechanic Works.
ix. Transport Officer – CONTEDISS 08
Candidate must possess Higher National Diploma in Transportation Planning and
Logistics or any relevant discipline performing duties and taking charge of transport in the disposition and supervision of staff and vehicles in the Technical Section.
Conditions of Service
- All successful candidates will be placed on probation for two (2) years continuous service on assumption of duties to the retiring age of 65 years.
- Persons above 50 years of age need not apply.
- Other conditions of service are similar to those obtainable in the Polytechnic in Nigeria
- regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Rivers State Public
- Service.
