The Panel Operator is responsible for the operation of the process units.The position is an essential
refinery job whose function is to monitor, control, and adjust refining operations from the control panel to maintain production rates and product quality by reviewing production and quality reports, anticipating, and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.Leading operating crews to ensure safe, environmentally responsible, and reliable operations of the

Responsibilities
- Directing the Plant Operator to monitor the process equipment and make necessary changes in the process unit.
- Coordinate, Supervise and Provide work directions to Plant Operators
- Recording, compiling, reporting, and documenting operating data while monitoring process equipment and reporting any possible problems
- Performing start-ups, normal shutdowns, and emergency shutdowns
- Sampling and testing process streams as required to ensure quality
- Build internal capacity e.g. On the job training.
- Communicating directly with the laboratory and interpreting QA/QC results and acting when required.
- Participates in: (a) preventative maintenance as required; (b) assisting maintenance technicians in performing needed repairs; (c) diagnosing and troubleshooting maintenance-related issues; and (d) all health, safety, and environmental activities.
- As an operating authority, review safe work permits and enforce permit requirements in the field.
- Leading a team to achieve goals through direction and motivation.
- Puts safety first in all company transactions in accordance with Safety policies and ensures
- that others comply in order to protect people, the environment, assets and company reputation in company operations.
- Understands the Corporate vision of the company and knows how personal contributions help to achieve it.
- Identifies Corporate business opportunities and promptly takes advantage of them to the benefit of the company.

Requirements
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Chemical/Petroleum/Petrochemical or its equivalent
- A minimum of Five years practical and working experience in Oil & Gas facilities
- Prior working experience in Oil & Gas processing plant preferred
- Demonstrates a designated level of technical skill and knowledge in process/plant operations
- Keeps up with current developments and trends in Refinery operations.
- Applies considerable knowledge of operations, procedures, and safety precautions of the Unit.
