Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on company-owned boats and watercraft to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Perform pre-season and post-season inspections, including engine checks, fluid levels, electrical systems, and hull integrity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and technical manuals as needed.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure parts, components, and materials for repairs and upgrades.
- Install, calibrate, and test new equipment and systems, such as engines, propulsion systems, navigational instruments, and safety devices.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts inventory, and service schedules.
- Provide technical support and guidance to boat operators and crew members on maintenance procedures, best practices, and safety protocols.
- Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
Requirements:
- Technical degree or certification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience as a boat engineer or marine technician, preferably in a boating or maritime environment
- Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, including gasoline and diesel engines, outboard motors, and sterndrives.
- Familiarity with marine electrical systems, plumbing systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools, software, and equipment used in marine repair and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and agility to perform duties in varying weather conditions and confined spaces.
