Job Summary:

The Guest House Officer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the guest house, providing exceptional customer service to guests, and maintaining a welcoming and comfortable environment. This role involves managing reservations, coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance staff, and addressing guest inquiries and concerns promptly.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and check-in guests, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide information about local attractions, services, and amenities.

Reservations and Administration:

  • Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the guest house management system.
  • Maintain accurate records of guest information and transactions.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports on occupancy and guest feedback.

Housekeeping and Maintenance Coordination:

  • Coordinate with housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are clean and well-maintained.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate department and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and common areas to ensure standards are met.

Financial Management:

  • Handle guest payments, process invoices, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and enforce guest house policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using guest house management software and MS Office.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
