We are seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates to fill the position of a legal Officer and Senior legal officers in our Lagos and Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) Offices.

Job Summary:

The job holder is responsible for drafting, reviewing, updating, filling, reporting, and providing day-to-day legal support within the assigned Region.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, analyze and review legal agreements, legislation and documents for the Region
• Assist in the provision of advisory on documents with legal implications for work groups and functions within the Region
• Assist with maintenance of up-to-date filling system for all legal documents and cases related to the Region
• Ensure the execution of departmental initiatives within the Region
• Escalate identified legal risk for effective mitigation
• Assist in providing periodic reports on all legal related matters within the Region
• Track adherence to legal policies and procedures within the Region
• Assist with communications with external solicitors within the Region and in tracking their deliverables in alignment with the terms of engagement/performance matrixes
• Assist in preparing stakeholders for court appearances
• Assist in the preparation of court cases in the Region such as taking depositions, preparing pre-trial briefs, evidence gathering and draft pleadings for filing.
• Participate in the periodic sensitization on legal pronouncements on select subjects with the hope to minimize or eliminate legal risk
• Following up on cases filed against the organisation and preparation of legal reports and Opinions
• Any other task/administrative responsibilities assigned by the Line Manager

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution.
• Member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a practicing lawyer
