We are hiring to fill in the following position
Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Lagos, Nigeria.
Job Summary
The Cost Accountant will be typically responsible for supporting financial planning and analysis by monitoring, managing, and analyzing cost data. This role often involves working closely with other departments to ensure accurate cost reporting and to help optimize company spending.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data to determine costs of business activities.
- Prepare and maintain cost reports and present findings to management.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels, ensuring accuracy in reporting.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Analyze variances between actual costs and budgeted costs and explain discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate cost data in the accounting systems.
- Assist senior accountants with various projects and tasks as needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
