Job Title: Electronics Engineer
Location: Port-Harcourt

Job Summary

As an Electronics Engineer Trainee at Geoplex Drillteq Limited, you will undergo structured training and hands-on learning within the Electronics/Instrumentation department. You will build your technical competence in troubleshooting, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems and instrumentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured on boarding and technical training program covering core electronic systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuits, sensors, boards, and instrumentation used in field and lab environments.
  • Support calibration, testing, and configuration of electronic tools and measurement systems.
  • Maintain documentation of repairs, calibration certificates, and inventory of components.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and technicians during diagnostics and routine maintenance.
  • Observe and adhere to safety practices and engineering standards during lab or field assignments.
  • Engage in hands-on training sessions on electronic design, system testing, and quality checks.
  • Learn to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining technical manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Carry out preventive maintenance activities under supervision.
  • Provide support during equipment mobilisation and demobilisation for field operations.
  • Participate in technical reviews, learning assessments, and project presentations throughout the trainee program.

Requirements

  • B.Sc./HND in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 0-1 year of relevant internship or industrial training experience.
  • Strong interest in electronics systems and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, circuit design, or microcontrollers is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; exposure to AutoCAD or basic programming is beneficial.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced and technical environment.
  • Must be adaptable to travel or field assignments when required.
