Stockgap is committed to providing access to the ever increasing demand for energy in Nigeria. The company is currently engaged in the bulk storage and distribution of refined petroleum products (PMS, AGO and DPK) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LPG), also known as cooking gas.

Applications are invited from qualified individuals to fill the position of a Trainee legal Officer.

Job Summary

To support the legal department in overseeing the legal aspects of the business, ensuring that the company adheres to Nigerian law and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring the company’s compliance with Nigerian laws and regulations.
  • Help ensure that all company operations, policies, and procedures comply with legal standards.
  • Support in the review and update of the company’s legal documentation to align with current laws.
  • Participate in the preparation of legal opinions and recommendations.
  • Support in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to safeguard the company’s interests.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant Nigerian laws, regulations, and legal issues affecting the company.
  • Perform administrative duties, including scheduling meetings, managing legal correspondence, and maintaining legal files.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents and reports for internal and external use.

Requirements

  • Law degree (LLB) with minimum of 2nd class upper
  • Must have completed the Nigerian Law School
  • Must have completed NYSC
  • Understanding of Nigerian law and legal systems
