Immaculate Heart of Mary Specialist Hospital is currently seeking a motivated and qualified individual to join our dynamic team as a Laboratory Scientist.
Responsibilities:
As a Laboratory Scientist at Immaculate Heart of Mary Specialist Hospital, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
- Conducting routine and specialized laboratory tests on various specimens, such as blood, urine, and tissues, using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and techniques.
- Ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation of all samples in accordance with established protocols and quality control standards.
- Analysing and interpreting test results, documenting findings accurately, and reporting them to relevant medical staff in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with the medical team to provide essential data for patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, ensuring its proper functioning, and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Adhering to strict safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Keeping up-to-date with advancements in laboratory technology, techniques, and best practices through continuous education and professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Valid certification and registration with the relevant regulatory body for Laboratory Scientists in Nigeria.
- Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting, demonstrating expertise in performing a variety of laboratory tests.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with medical staff and other team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices, patient confidentiality, and quality assurance.
