The role of an Operations Technician is to provide the functional, day-to-day support and surveillance of unit operating equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop thorough working knowledge of primary unit operations, safe operating limits, and control schemes
- Develop thorough working knowledge of unit process / environmental potential hazards and safeguards that prevent / mitigate
- Comply with safe work standards (Lock-Out / Tag-Out), Management of Change, Procedure compliance
- Conduct assigned surveillance / sampling rounds with an Operations Excellence / Process & Personnel Safety mindset
- May involve developing and/or executing Process Plans to prepare equipment for maintenance or returning to service
- May include both Field and/or Console operations responsibility to manage / improve unit operations
- Understand and be able to execute Emergency Response expectations across a variety of practical scenarios
- Monitor equipment, look for unusual operations, support optimization and trouble-shooting activities
Requirements
- Minimum Higher National Diploma in process and/or Instrumentation, City and Guilds level 4 in Process or Instrumentation; or equivalent qualifications in an oil and gas industry specific apprenticeship program.
- Minimum 3 years relevant oil and gas operator technician work experience
