The Niger Delta Development Commission is a federal government agency established by former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo in the year 2000, with the sole mandate of developing the oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria
In her quest to develop the region with, the NDDC Managing Director in the year 2023 launched a program named PROJECT HOPE which Stands for, stands for Holistic Opportunity Projects of Engagement, and it aims to create 1,000 jobs per state through strategic partnerships and skill development.
Speaking at the flag off of project HOPE, the MD/CEO of NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku said: “Today marks a new dawn in the NDDC because we are kicking off project HOPE to touch the lives of youths in the Niger Delta. It is holistic because it will be all-encompassing and sustainable.

ABOUT NDDC YOUTH INTERNSHIP SCHEME
As part of her effort to empower the Youths of the Niger Delta region to strengthen human capital development, the Niger Delta Development Commission invites Youths within the Niger Delta region to Apply for the 2024 Youths Internship Scheme Program.
Eligible State.
To Apply, Applicants must come from the Nine (9) Niger Delta State, which includes

- Bayelsa State
- Imo State
- Cross River State
- Delta State
- Akwa-Ibom State
- Edo State
- Abia State
- Ondo State.

Eligible Criteria
- Application is open to all Niger Delta youths between the ages (18-45yrs)
- Possess a minimum of SSCE, including mathematics and English language.
Benefits of NYIS
- Each intern will receive a stipend of #50,000.00 monthly.

How long will the Internship Program last?
- The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Youth Internship Scheme is in Batches/Phases, which runs for a period of 1 year (12 months )
