The Nigerian Navy (NN) is a branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces. It is among the largest navies on the African continent, consisting of several thousand personnel, including those of the Coast Guard.
We are pleased to inform the general public and interested applicants that the Nigerian Navy Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29 Special Enlistment has begun.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Nigerians for:
Title: Nigerian Navy (NN) Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29 Special Enlistment
MBBS or MBBCh and BDS for medical doctors and dental surgeons respectively.
All must be fully registered by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and possess a current practicing license
2.) Pharmacy:
Requirements:
Pharm/Doctor Pharmacy degree and full registration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria as well as have a current practicing license.
3.) Medical Lab Science:
Requirements:
BMLS and be fully registered with the Medical Laboratory Scientist Council of Nigeria as well as possess a current practicing license.
4.) Radiographer:
Requirements:
BSc in Radiography with current practicing license.
5.) Physiotherapy
B.Physiotherapy or BMR (Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation).
Must be registered with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Registration Board of Nigeria (MRTB) and possess a current practicing license.
6.) Optometry:
Requirements:
Doctor of Optometry Must be fully registered optometrist, dispensing optician by the Optical Council of Nigeria
Must have a current practicing license.
7.) Medical Records/Health Information Management:
Requirements
BSc/HND required with current practicing license.
8.) Clinical Psychology:
BSc in Clinical Psychology and Applied Psychology, with current practicing license.
9.) Biomedical Engineer:
Requirements
BSc/HND in Biomedical Engineering with current practicing license.
10.) Public Health Officer:
Requirements
BSc/HND in either Environmental Health or Community Health Information and Education.
Must be fully registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registrations Council of Nigeria (EHORCON) and possess a current practicing license.
11.) General Nursing / Midwife:
Requirements
B.NSC RN and RM with current practicing license.
Post basic qualification in any of the following fields will be an added advantage:
Accident and Emergency Nurse.
Intensive Care Unit Nurse.
Peri-Operative Nurse.
Ophthalmic Nurse.
Dialysis / Renal Nurse.
12.) Social Welfare Officer / Nutritionist:
Requirements:
BSc, practicing license from relevant regulatory bodies, registered member of the professional board.
13.) Occupational Therapist:
Requirements:
BSc, practicing license from relevant regulatory bodies, registered member of the professional board.
14.) Engineering
Requirements:
B.Sc or B Eng qualifications in the following fields:
Control Engineering.
Naval Architecture/Ship Design.
Marine Engineering (Mechanical). d. Marine Engineering (Electrical).
Mechatronics Engineering.
Membership of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) will be an added advantage.
15.) Information and Communication Technology
Requirements:
B.Sc/ B.Tech/ B.Eng in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Priority will be given to candidates with relevant qualifications in:
Networking and Network Administration.
Programming and Software Development.
Server and Database Administration.
Cyber Security.
Computer Forensics/Digital Investigation.
Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
Certification in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
16.) Legal Service
LLB and BL. LLM in International Maritime Law, International Law or Forensic Law is an added advantage.
General Requirements:
Applicant must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
Applicants are wamed against giving false information or tendering fake certificates. Any false information or fake certificates discovered at any stage will lead to disqualification and subsequent prosecution of the applicant.
Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class Upper Division for holders of First degree and Upper Credit for HND holders.
Computer literacy will be an added advantage in all fields.
Applicants must possess certificates of full registration with their respective statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.
Applicants who obtained credentials from foreign institutions should ensure the certificates are authenticated by the Federal Ministry of Education and copies of all certificates are to be submitted at chosen aptitude test centers.
All applicants must present O’level West African Examination Certificate (WAEC), in addition to any other results such as NECO. Credit in Mathematics and English is compulsory.
NYSC discharge certificate or letter of exemption from NYSC is a compulsory requirement for enlistment.
Male applicants must not be less than 1.68 meters tall while female applicants must not be less than 1.65 meters tall.
Applicants should be between 22 and 28 years of age by 25 March 2024. Except Medical Officers who should not be more than 30 years.
Serving personnel, Soldier/Rating/Airman, and other paramilitary services personnel must obtain a letter of attestation duly signed by the heads of their units.
Applicants will be shortlisted for a qualifying aptitude test. The date and time of the aptitude test will be communicated via the Nigerian Navywebsite: www.joinnigeriannavy.com
