Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the dual role of Computer Science Lecturer and ICT Officer. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in computer science, proven teaching experience, and the ability to manage and support ICT infrastructure effectively. This role combines academic responsibilities with the management of ICT resources and support.

Responsibilities:

As Computer Science Lecturer:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lectures in Computer Science to students.
  • Develop and implement course materials, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Provide academic support and mentorship to students.
  • Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and improvement.

As ICT Officer:

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of ICT infrastructure, including hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff and students on ICT-related issues.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the institution’s ICT systems and data.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of new ICT projects and systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and best practices in ICT.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure ICT needs are met effectively.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a first degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PDA) or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is required.
  • Proven teaching experience in a tertiary education setting is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills and experience in managing ICT infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.
  • Demonstrated dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
