Manager ICU/CCU & Theatres at African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE)

Job Summary:

The Manager of Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Cath Lab and Theatres plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within the clinical services department. This position is responsible for overseeing the operational, clinical, and administrative functions of the ICU, CCU, and Theatres, ensuring compliance with national healthcare standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to the ICU, CCU, and Theatre teams by fostering a culture of excellence in patient care. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance metrics, address concerns, and celebrate successes.
• Ensure the delivery of safe, effective patient care by monitoring clinical practices within the units. Implement evidence-based protocols and guidelines to enhance patient outcomes.
• Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures related to critical care services. Ensure compliance with local regulations and national standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets effectively. Monitor expenditures to ensure financial sustainability while maintaining quality care standards.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development of nursing staff within the ICU, CCU, and Theatres. Encourage continuous education through workshops, seminars, and certification programs.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and satisfaction. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in critical care practice.
• Specialized training or certification relevant to the role
• Meet all requirement to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
• Masters in related subject
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in critical care settings (ICU/CCU)
