Job Summary:
- The Strategy Officer Will be responsible for reporting to the Head of Strategy.
- The Strategy Officer requires an individual who can demonstrate and draw on expertise acquired from extensive, varied and progressively responsible experience to support the team in achieving long-range corporate strategic planning and corporate project oversight.
- To help the department grow the company’s financial base; to supervise and increase the clientele/business opportunity scope.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the facilitation and translation of the organisation’s Strategic Plan to the Corporate Strategic Business Plan.
- Assist in supervising the strategy, research and departmental business plan regularly to ensure tasks and milestones are being achieved promptly and preparation of governance reports, project status reports, presentations, agendas etc. are completed.
- Supervising project plans as directed by the Corporate Business Plan of the organization.
- Implementing strategies recommended from research based on market posture about competitors and customers and providing reports on their activities and trends to the Manager
- A strong strategic analytical focus that guides the development of key performance indicators to monitor the progress of projects.
- Maintains project compliance with Council Policy and administrative procedures and highlights any issues to the manager.
- Help build project management capability within the organisation through collaboration, leadership support, and generally encouraging the appropriate use of project management techniques by others.
- Undertakes the supervision of personal development to maintain leading-edge knowledge of analysis techniques, and external trends in a related environment.
- Assist the department’s management with advice and guidance to build departmental business plans and execute projected goals.
- Enforces the Identification, and development, of and easily communicates meaningful business intelligence data to support the team’s recommendation to the organisation’s advancement, as required.
- Tracks and reviews KPIs, goals and objectives of the organisation’s corporate workplan.
- Deploys and maintains a real-time dashboard of Key data on corporate Strategy.
- Assists manager in developing effective procedures and processes.
- Assists Manager in analysis as it relates to Strategy development, institutional planning, performance management and quality control;
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- BSc in Business Management or Strategic planning and equivalent is considered an asset.
- MSc in Business Management or any business-related course.
- MBA or other related professional qualifications are an added advantage.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a Strategy Officer or similar position and relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Initiative, ability to work independently, set priorities and perform under pressure with accuracy and dedication;
- Excellent analytical, drafting and problem-solving skills;
- Experience and ability to coordinate multi-dimensional projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
