WAEC Bans 35 Schools in Rivers State Over Alleged Exam Malpractice

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has derecognized 35 schools in Rivers State over alleged examination malpractice.

Deputy Registrar/Zonal Coordinator for Head of National office, S.D. KUM made this known in a letter sent to the Rivers State Commissioner for Education.

He noted that the schools were indicted for examination malpractice, which is a serious offence.

Some of the schools include: Christ Secondary School, Nonwa, Rootway Compre College, PH, Millenium High School PH, Excel Comprehensive College, Bori, Sonny Memorial College, Diobu, Comprehensive High School, Khana.

Others are: Community Sec. Sch. Baen, Comm. Sec. Sch. Ngo-Uyeada, Baptist Vocational College, Ahoada, Comm. Sec. Sch. Ebubu Eleme, John Wesley College, Bori amongst others.

The state Ministry of Education is yet to react to the development. Efforts to reach the Ministry to confirm the development have not been successful.
