Job Summary
The Control Room Operator is responsible for
monitoring and controling depot processes from a
centralized control room. The individual plays a key
role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation
Responsibilities
- Monitor terminal processes through the use of control systems, distributed control systems (DCS), and other relevant technologies.
- Take timely corrective actions to maintain optimal operating conditions and respond to deviations from standard parameters.
- Respond to alarms promptly, diagnose issues, and implement corrective measures to prevent disruptions to operations.
- Collaborate with maintenance and other teams to troubleshoot and resolve identified operational issues
- Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Effectively communicate with field operators, maintenance personnel, and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate activities and respond to operational needs
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements
- Collaborate with the Project and maintenance teams to implement upgrades and modifications to enhance plant performance.
- Prepare shift reports detailing key events, issues, and actions taken during the shift.
- Other assigned responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of OND in relevant discipline
- Minimum of 2years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting control systems and DCS
- Understanding of terminal processes, instrumentation and equipment
- Familiarity with hazardous operations and emergency response
- Keen attention to details
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, especially during high-pressure situations.
