The members of PDP in Emohua Local Government Area are been splitted into four factions as the leadership of the party plans to impose Hon Sam Ogeh who has represented EMOLGA for the third time, on EMOLGA people.
Some wards in the LGA has threatened to vote against PDP if their plans succeeds stating that they will resist every attempt to return Hon. Sam Ogeh for the third term as assembly member
Speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt after their meeting in the house of Hon Paul Wonodi, the leader of PDP in Emohua LGA, a source who pleaded for anonymity disclosed that Joseph Awuse’s Camp has also threatened to defect to APC to support Senator Andrew Uchendu and his APC members.
The source also said that some aggrieved members of PDP has already started discussions with some opposition political parties in the LGA. He said that Hon Ogeh failed EMOLGA people and that he is not supposed to go back to the House of Assembly again. According to him, the lawmaker is the worst lawmaker that has ever represented the LGA and that EMOLGA people needs an outspoken, intelligent and politically-oriented representative.
The Co-ordinator of Hon David Omereji Vanguard, Igwe Onyeche Wofurum, popularly known as Humble Lion also confirmed the development, saying that Egbeda, Omudioga, Ubimini, Elele-Alimini and other communities are warming up for the mother of all political battles.
He also said that PDP will gradually die a natural death in Emohua LGA if nothing is done to allow the most popular candidate emerge.
Mr Igwe also appealed to the Governor of Rivers State and the State Leadership of PDP to call EMOLGA PDP Leaders to order and avoid the worst defeat in the next year general elections.
When contacted on phone, a member of PDP in Emohua LGA who attended the Stakeholders meeting called by the Governor recently said he has appealed to Chief Paul Wonodi to allow the most popular candidate emerge as directed by Chief Barr Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. He said it was wrong for Chief Wonodi to take the decision after listening to the directive of the governor.
