Just In: Supreme Court Judge, Justice Oseji Is Dead

A Supreme Court judge, Hon. Justice Samuel Chukwudumebi Oseji, is dead.

According to Niger Delta Today, the Jurist died on Monday night after a brief illness.

This was also confirmed to Lawyers at the Supreme Court today.

According to a post by former Chairman of the Mid-West Bar Forum, Chief Chike Onyemenam SAN, the news was broken to lawyers who were at the Supreme Court today for their cases. The news of his demise was shared in the Mid-West Bar Forum platform this morning.

“Good morning my beloved Members of the Mid-West Bar Forum. My heart is completely broken as the Supreme Court Justices called a few of us into Chambers now to inform us of the passing on of our dearly beloved Hon. Justice S.C. Oseji, J.S.C. Please pray for his peaceful repose and for his wife and Family.
Chief Chike Onyemenam SAN”

Hon. Justice S.C. Oseji who hails from Idumuje-Unor community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, died at 67. He became a High Court Judge in Delta State in 1998 and further elevated as a Justice of the Court of Appeal in 2010. He became a Justice of the Supreme Court on the 20th day of November 2020.
