Oil Bunkering Claims 25 lives, others injured in Rivers Community.

Over 25 persons have been reported to have lost their lives with others seriously injured due to an illegal activity of crude oil theft also unknown as Kpofire in Rumuekpe Community, Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State.

The incident which happened on Thursday Night when the illegal refiners have gone for the activity of the day to cook crude before the fire sparked from the oven used According to a source who confirmed the incident.


He said “On Thursday at Exactly 10pm in the night, at Ekwuche village close to the Ospac check point, some guys who went to cook crude got burnt when fire sparked from the oven used in cooking the oil”

” 4 known victims are from the community, why several others burnt beyond recognition and many suffering different degrees of injuries while others are still missing”

Recall that barely 2 weeks ago in Rumuekpe, over 5 persons have recently lost their lives due to fire outbreak due to same reason leaving the entire community shocked.
