INEC is Nigeria’s electoral body established by the 1999 Constitution to organize and supervise elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) invites applications from suitably qualified Nigerians for employment into various entry-level positions on Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10 and 12.

The recruitment exercise is aimed at strengthening the Commission’s institutional capacity in electoral administration, voter registration, data management, election logistics, and other critical electoral operations in furtherance of its constitutional mandate.

Available Areas:

1 Professional Cadre Lawyers.

  • Clinical Officers.
  • IT Officers
  • Engineers.
  • Accountants, etc..
  • Grade Levels 09, 10 and 12

2. Administrative Officer II

  • Registration Area Officer
  • Grade Level 08

3. Executive Officer Assistant

  • Registration Area Officer.
  • Grade Level 07

Requirements:

A. Professional Cadre – Grade Levels 09, 10 and 12

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent and Master’s Degree in the relevant field of specialization from a Government-recognized institution;
  • Relevant professional certification where applicable (e.g. NBA, MDCN, COREN, NSE, ICAN, ANAN, CPN, etc.);
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate, Certificate of Exemption or Letter of Exclusion;
  • Demonstrable practical knowledge and competence in the relevant field;
  • Analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications and digital tools.

B. Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) – Grade Level 08

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualification in Social Sciences, Humanities, or Sciences from a recognized institution;
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate, Certificate of Exemption or Letter of Exclusion;
  • Good knowledge of data management and record keeping;
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant ICT tools.

Executive Officer (Registration Area Officer) – Grade Level 07

  • A National Certificate in Education (NCE) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations and data handling;
  • Good communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work effectively under supervision within assigned Registration Areas.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must Be a Nigerian citizen by birth or descent;
  • Must Present a valid Certificate of State of Origin duly signed by the Chairman or Secretary of their Local Government. Certificates endorsed by Liaison Officers will not be accepted;
  • Be computer literate;
  • Be certified by a Government Medical Officer as physically and mentally fit for appointment into the Commission;
  • Not above 35 years of age at the point of application;
  • Possess good character and must not have been convicted of any criminal offence;
  • Be willing to serve in any part of the Federation where assigned;
  • Possess integrity, discipline, and commitment to Public Service.
