Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Job Summary
This position entails inspecting, installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems for both machinery and equipment. The incumbent will ensure that repairs and maintenance work are completed promptly while prioritizing safety and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, they will provide oversight and leadership support regarding general electrical-related issues within the company. Collaborating across lines (engineering maintenance &production stakeholders) with other team members as required to maintain cohesive teamwork that achieves relevant targets.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots, repairs, conducts preventive maintenance on electrical system control equipment.
- Inspects electrical systems or components to identify faults/hazards/defects or the need for adjustment/repair.
- Improves daily electrical maintenance work processes to minimize breakdowns/downtime.
- Maintains up-to-date records related to work performed by the team; including uncompleted tasks/leftover materials/spare parts.
- Ensures that teams comply with safety regulations- keeping equipment in check to avoid any potential electric hazards capable of causing harm to others.
- Prioritizes daily work orders based on their level of importance in meeting deadlines.
- Implements a total planned preventive maintenance program following manufacturer’s instructions/procedures as designed.
- Performs any other assignment assigned by unit head.
Requirements:
- Minimum academic qualification – Higher National Diploma (Engineering/Electrical/Electronics) from a recognized institution
- 5 years of experience working with electrics
- A strong working knowledge of technical training/fault finding/troubleshooting techniques is essential
- Good communication skills (written/oral)
- High personal responsibility/accountability towards results
- Excellent understanding of electrical/electronics/instrumentation processes
- Ability to interpret these processes effectively
- Ability to prioritize completing needs/meet deadlines effectively
- Must be available for travel at very short notice.
