First Independent Power Limited is a company in the business of power generation in Nigeria located in Rivers State. We own and operate 4 gas turbine power plants within Rivers State located in Trans-Amadi Port-Harcourt, Afam, Omoku and Eleme.
We are recruiting to fill the positions below;
1. Head of Corporate Communication (Corporate Communications)
Job Summary:
Adherence to company procedures is crucial in developing and implementing a Corporate Communications Strategy.
Responsibilities:
- encompass managing the company’s brand image, reputation, and building strategic relationships with stakeholders.
- Defining and implementing communication strategies, recommending editorial policies, and overseeing various communication channels are key aspects of the role.
- Liaising with internal departments, managing professional networks, and ensuring corporate identity consistency are essential tasks.
- Handling media crises, contributing to the company’s commercial objectives, and supporting growth projects are part of the responsibilities.
- The qualification highlights compliance with Quality Management System and Occupational Health & Safety.
- Flexibility to perform additional duties as requested by the MD/CEO is expected.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or its equivalent in Communications, Social Sciences or any related discipline
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience with at least 3 in a similar managerial role
- professional certifications will be an added advantage
- Basic appreciation of the power sector & its dynamics
- excellent communication, media, writing, relationship management, leadership and networking skills
2. Analyst (Contracting & Procurement)
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze purchasing data for informed procurement decisions.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Manage procurement processes, ensuring alignment with Service Level Agreements.
- Perform cost analysis and forecasting for purchase requisitions, contracts, and orders.
- Timely update and analyze reports, prepare weekly and monthly reports, and conduct forecasts.
- Generate accurate reports using basic software and recommend vendor selections for RFQs.
- Develop and maintain procurement metrics to track key performance indicators.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement, including sourcing and negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and identify cost-saving opportunities through data- driven analysis.
- Prepare Cost-benefit analysis reports for review.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or engineering
- Minimum of 5 years experience in data analysis, optimization & reporting using Power Bl and other relevant tools.
- Experience with Sage Software.
- In-depth business management, supply chain & strategic knowledge
- Negotiation skills
