The raid of cultists camp in Obelle community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State early hours of July 7, 2023 by combined team of Police which led to the killing of six suspected cultists and arrest of six others thwarted planned attack on Ndele community by remnants of suspected Deygbam cult members loyal to late Ekwueme Brown aka Lucifer

Area talk gathered
that suspected Deygbam cult members from Ndele community and other of their members terrorizing Emohua section of East West road had began to regroup at a revitalized camp at Omoeyoro clan Obelle coordinated by one Uchechukwu Daniel when the Police got intelligence on their activities.

Sources privy to activities in the camp disclosed to our reporter that the camp was a logistics base, used for recruitment of new entrants, training and sometimes keeping of kidnap victims.

Before the dismantling of the camp at Obelle by the Police on July 7, 2023 there have being rumours of impending attack on Ndele community by the suspected cultists who was alleged to have sent message across to the community.

Another source familiar with the development said the suspected cultists suffered heavy casualty in their camp at Obelle as many escaped with bullet wounds.

The source asserted that the surviving cultists belonging to the dismantled camp is now in serious disarray with the massive onslaught on their base by the Police last Friday (7, July,2023) .

Recall that the Commissioner of Police, CP Emeka Nwonyi had on Friday 7 July, 2023 in a press briefing announced the killing of six suspected cultists and arrest of six others at Obele.
