…………Sues for Peaceful coexistence with Neighbours.
The Executive Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr.Thomas Bariere today returned the people of Kono Boue from the various Internally Displaced Persons Camps (IDPs) in Bori to their community.
It is worthy to note that the Kono-Boue community has been ravaged by communal and cult related clashes over a period of time, which resulted in the people fleeing from their homes to seek refuge in IDP camps.
The Khana Council Boss who was accompanied by the DPO of Bori Divisional Headquarter DPS Bako Agbashim, Men of the Nigeria Army, and other top political appointees of the Council, emphasized the need for peace to return to the community as well as Khana at large.
He said ” I swore an oath to protect the lives and properties of the people of Khana, my administration has been working tirelessly to ensure that peace returns to our communities, and these efforts are yielding great results. Peace is gradually returning to Khana.
“my reason of coming here today is to lead you and your families back to your homes and to assure you that your security and safety is of topmost importance to my administration”.
“I also want it to be on record that every perpetrator of evil in this local government will be made to face the full wrath of the law”.He futher reteirated his administration’s readiness to combat insecurity in its totality.
In the same vein, the DPO also used the opportunity to assure the people of his readiness to fight crime, criminality and cultism that had bedeviled Khana local government and its environs.
The leadership of the Kono-Boue community thanked the Executive Chairman for his proactive and pragmatic leadership style in fighting insecurity in Khana, particularly in Kono Boue, which is the reason, peace has returned. They expressed their readiness to work with his administration and security agencies in order to ensure that criminal elements are brought to book.
Dr. Thomas and his team later extended the message of peace to the people of Uegwere Boue. While addressing them, he stressed the need for them to live in one accord as a people,
He said, there’s need for peaceful coexistence between both communities.
“We came here today to appeal to the people of Uegwere to allow the people of Kono safe passage through their community. Uegwere and Kono people must see themselve as one people he concluded.
