Job Summary:
The OIM is in overall charge of and is accountable and are responsible for the safety of all personnel onboard equipment and rig and all activities conducted. The OIM has total jurisdiction and authority over rig management including but not limited to rig safety, operations, personnel, training, regulatory compliance, budget management and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and provide support to the Rig Manager with regard to the rig’s day-to-day management and long term stewardship of the rig.
- Directly responsible for ensuring the satisfactory and efficient operation and improvement in all areas related to the drilling rig operations in accordance with Client’s well program and Company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Drilling Wells Safely (DWLS) management systems as contained in company’s Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), in Risk Assessments and roll out on all major operation approval authority effort.
- Ensure the integrity and stability of the rig is always maintained.
- Ensure emergency drills are always conducted and ensure preparedness of crew.
- Provide comprehensive handover notes for relief and ensure subordinates provide the same.
Requirements:
- A minimum of high school or equivalent education.
- A minimum of 10 years drilling experience. Specifically, we require individuals with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of the OIM.
- Must have onboard a offshore medical, OIM, BOSIET/FOET, OIM Controlling Major Emergencies, Ballast Control Certificates and other requirements per applicable regulation.
