Job Summary:
The QA/QC Welding Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of welds used in our projects. You will be responsible for inspecting welding procedures, materials, and finished welds by industry standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of welding procedures, welder qualifications, welding consumables, and base materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- Perform visual inspections of welds to identify potential defects (cracks, porosity, undercuts, etc.)
- Utilize non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (as required) to verify the integrity of welds
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and recommendations
- Identify and report potential quality issues and recommend corrective actions
- Participate in project meetings and discussions related to welding quality control activities
- Collaborate with engineers, welders, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QA/QC Welding Inspection role
- CSWIP qualification
- Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and inspection techniques
- Experience with NDT methods (e.g., VT, PT, MT, UT) is a plus
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (gauges, calipers, welding machines, NDT equipment)
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
