University of Port Harcourt Abolishes Course Rep, Sales of Textbook more than once, Others.

The Federal university of Port Harcourt has announced a total ban on Course Rep in the university.

In a memo sited as signed by Prof. NekaBari J. Nna said all Books will henceforth be sold in designated bookshops prescribed by the university

Amongst others include;

The Position of Course rep is abolished in the University.

On no account should more than one text book be sold for one particular course in the University.

The practice of students putting on uniform is abolished in the University.

The practice of listing the names and mat numbers of students that purchased a particular course book is abolished in the University.

Direct sale of books to students through the course rep after collecting from the course lecturer is abolished in the University.

Only the Faculty appointed Book Committee should evaluate books presented by lecturers to ensure that they contain what is in the course Outline and recommend such for sale

The practice of separating male and Female students in the examination halls or marking ‘M’ for Male or ‘F’ for Female on exam script amount to gender discrimination and against the fundamental Human Rights and the law . it is hereby Abolished.
