Wazobiafm is currently hiring for the role of a sports presenter, Location: Port Harcourt
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, write, and present news coverage or analysis on sports events to inform fans of the latest happenings in the sports world
- Research game statistics, analyze sports news stories, announce play-by-plays and offer game predictions on air
- Provide a fun and conversational element for listeners
- Responsible for fact-checking, presenting relevant sports information, writing and editing briefing notes and scripts
- Participate actively in the sports editorial meeting to set the agenda for the day
- Collaborate with the Sports Manager to set agenda for the day
- Organize the sports news to present the most interesting piece first
- Revise scripts and prepare to deliver on-air
- Comply with the moral code of the journalistic profession and the company’s code of conduct
- Be up to date and fully conversant with news, sports and industry developments by studying papers, attending events, etc.
- Stay in contact with industry professionals.
Requirements:
- Bsc/HND in any field
- At least 3-5 years as a sport presenter
- Good Command of Pidgin English
