A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in Rivers State, Chief Hon. Fubara Ohaka escaped an assassination on Saturday, the 27/11/2021 at his home residence in “Ibaa” Emohua LGA, Rivers State.
Chief Ohaka who had visited his hometown for an age grade induction ceremony narrowly escaped assassination by Men of The Nigeria Police Force(NPF) led by the Divisional Police Officer(DPO), in Rumuji in conjunction with Ibaa Security and Peace advisory Committee(ISPAC) in the area led by Mr. Ndidi Eke who came to his compound to assassinate him but were heavily resisted by relatives and supporters who maintained that he goes nowhere.
According to an eye witness who spoke to our correspondent in anonymity explained that Hon.Ohaka like every other indigene of the community visited his home to join in the celebration of the Central bank age grade induction holding at Omubezu Ibaa.
He said ” while we are at his compound celebrating police officers led by the DPO and the local vigilantee leader who has been on the wanted list for the murder of one Mr Ndidi Ogbuma and also for the killing of a Delta indigene who resides in the area came and pointed Chief Ohaka to the DPO. The DPO immediately demands he goes with them that it is an order from the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP.Frank Ebuka without a warrant of arrest or invitation from the CP. Which lead to the people’s reaction that resisted them from pulling him over as he further described the arrest as an assasination attempt to an innocent man.
Moreso, a call placed to the CP was abortive while the Rivers State Police Public Relation Officer “Nnamdi Omoni” while reacting to the inquiry confirmed that the CP. currently is not in town neither is he aware of any arrest nor him as the Public Relation Officer (PRO) aware of such arrest.
