UNICEF, NPC, and NYSC Partnership: Revolutionizing Birth Registration in Nigeria. Birth registration is a fundamental right that ensures every child is recognized as a member of society and gains access to essential services and protections. In a groundbreaking initiative, UNICEF, in partnership with the National Population Commission (NPC) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has come together to enhance the birth registration process in Nigeria. This collaborative effort aims to streamline and support the digitalized birth registration system in 22 states and Abuja. Through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU), the partners solidify their commitment to this transformative project.

The collaboration between UNICEF, NPC, and NYSC represents a significant milestone in the efforts to improve birth registration in Nigeria. By leveraging their resources and facilities, these organizations aim to register a minimum of 12 million eligible children under the age of 5 as primary beneficiaries. Moreover, the benefits of this partnership extend to families, parents, caregivers, communities, households, local government areas (LGAs), and ward level administrators as indirect beneficiaries.

The National Population Commission (NPC) and The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) are now open for recruitment of Adhoc staff and NYSC corps members for the registration of 12.7million birth in Nigeria.

The Digital Birth Registration 2023 including the issuance of birth certificates that provides the names and nationality of every child in Nigeria under the age of 5, in 21 States in 456 LGAs and 4,978 wards across the country.

Requirement to Apply For NPC Adhoc Staff for E-Birth Registration:

  • Applicant must have a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
  • Be informed that you can not take the assessment test more than once.
  • Applicant must write and pass an assessment test.
  • Applicant must use a device with a camera
  • Applicant’s bank details must be the same as the details that will be collected from his/her NIN
  • Applicant must have a valid educational certificate
  • Applicant must have a valid gmail account
  • Valid Bank Account Number(only commercial banks are accepted.)
  • Applicant must have a valid phone number
