Job Summary:
- Responsible for New customer/market Identification; customer relations management and Product Marketing/Sales.
- Presents sales proposals and Return on Investment (ROI) analysis to persuasively illustrate the benefits of proposed solutions to inform management decisions.
- Carry out market research, prepare reports and analyse market reports
- Provide support to the Commercial Supervisor in preparing Business plans and presentations, strategy documents, Budgeting and costing
- Evaluation of industry, customer offtakes and trends for reporting to the manager
- Assist the Commercial Supervisor with bid/tender packaging and contract reviews
- Assist in identifying and developing new opportunities in line with the company’s.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and retain knowledge of company products and service offerings and effectively sell such products to the client.
- Create new client and market opportunities/relationships, while effectively managing and retaining old ones.
- Adapt product/solution offerings to meet client business goals
- Effectively handle customer issues/complaints/enquiries and resolve them accordingly (where possible).
- Prepare and deliver Request for Proposal (RFP); invoices etc.
- Investigates; and Communicates sales activity, and market trends and makes forecasts to management.
- Contacts customers and/or potential clients to answer questions and provide information and customer service.
- Conducts research and analysis into plans and needs of targeted agencies/customers/market opportunities/threats.
- Assist in providing commercial support in the review and negotiation of contracts and contract variations to establish clear obligations and acceptable liabilities to safeguard the business interests.
- Support and assist Managers in the execution of the Contracts to ensure adherence to the confines of those Contracts to provide early warning of any issues or risks outside of the Contract scope.
- Act as the commercial interface with customers and effectively manage commercial relationships.
- Use data modelling practices to analyse findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements/ changes, with commercial benefits.
- Identify the process changes required to introduce recommendations, alongside clear identification of risks.
- Solid reporting skills to allow clear and concise reporting, often to the manager of findings and recommendations.
- Develop and implement effective commercial strategies.
- Assist in negotiating and finalizing agreements with clients and vendors.
- Monitor market trends and identify business opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices
- Liaises, develops and maintains strategic relationships with government or private commercial entities that generate commercial opportunities.
- Monitor, control and resolve problematic contractual issues, whilst always safeguarding the organisation’s best interest.
- Ensure that all bonds and insurances required under the Main Contract and Subcontracts are submitted/received on time.
Requirements
- B.Sc in Marketing, Business Management or equivalent
- MBA or other related professional qualifications are an added advantage
- Minimum five (5) years experience as a Commercial Officer or similar position and relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Initiative, ability to work independently, set priorities and perform under pressure with accuracy and dedication;
- Proficient in the use of MS Office suites, & the Internet and email.
