Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer at Churchgate Group

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly diligent and experienced Safety Officer to oversee and ensure the daily safety standards of our working environment. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain a secure workplace by implementing and updating safety procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure daily safety of the working environment.
• Maintain and update fire and safety checklist regularly
• Operate and test fire appliances twice weekly, updating the fire truck log book as needed.
• Monitor and ensure proper functioning of fire alarm system accessories, such as smoke detectors, fire brake glass as well as the sprinklers and hydrant lines.
• Coordinate with federal/state fire services for fire-related issues and improvements.
• Monitor reserve underground water tank and rooftop sprinkler tanks levels daily.
• Supervise civil and technical safety-related jobs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Respond to emergency calls, coordinate evacuations, and lead safety directives as necessary.

Requirements:

• WAEC, National Diploma in any relevant discipline
• Must be a trained personnel from the State/Federal Fire Service training school with 3-5 years experience in a high rise building.
