About the Heritage Leadership program

Heritage Energy Leadership Program (HLP) is a structured and immersive 24-month fast track leadership development programme that exposes participants to diverse business functions and real-world challenges, enabling them to build cross-functional understanding and apply knowledge in practical contexts. The program is designed to develop young professionals who have at least 3–5 years of relevant experience by equipping them with structured, hands-on development across key technical and leadership areas, and mentorship from experienced professionals. Our goal is to build, coach, develop and mentor a pipeline of future leaders who can seamlessly integrate into the organization and drive long-term performance not only in HEOSL but across the oil and gas industry.

Ideal candidates must be graduates in Engineering, Geosciences, or other related disciplines, we invite qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies below;

1. Production Technologist

Job Summary:

  • The Production Technologist will be responsible for production technology input to new opportunity development for production growth and asset optimization such as field development studies, new well development for oil/gas growth and produced water management.
  • Their responsibilities will include conceptual well & completion design, field development studies, reservoir management/production optimization, and well operations support.
  • They should also be able to seek out, adopt and implement cutting-edge technologies/strategies for well performance, monitoring and enhanced recovery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or other related fields.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Production Technologist in the oil and gas industry, with a broad understanding of other E&P disciplines
  • Working knowledge of completion design, well operations and flow assurance
  • Working knowledge of well inflow/outflow modelling and enhancement
  • Working Knowledge of sand control methods and sand management
  • Working knowledge of well integrity management
  • Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams on well, reservoir and facilities management. Previous experience of working on field development studies, integrated projects or production growth projects is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills, with experience in presenting technical findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders

2. Reservoir Engineer

Job Summary:

  • This role provides development opportunities in reservoir performance analysis, reserves estimation, and field development planning. The successful candidate will join the Subsurface team and work closely with geoscientists, production engineers, and economists to support value-maximizing reservoir management decisions.
  • The successful candidate will join a competent team of reservoir engineers responsible for championing reservoir management strategies to maximize the value of our oil and gas assets to both enhance hydrocarbon production and optimize field development (plans).
  • He/she will mainly work in the Subsurface team and with the Petroleum Engineering Functions to address technical deliverables as assigned by the team leadership.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of B.Eng. (2nd Class upper) in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other related engineering degrees. Advanced degrees will be an added advantage.
  • Mandatory NYSC discharge certificate.
  • 3 – 5 years relevant experience
  • Higher Degree is an advantage

3. Well Services Engineer

Job Summary:

  • This role provides structured exposure to well servicing operations, including well interventions, integrity assurance, and routine/completion maintenance.
  • The role is ideal for engineers early in their careers seeking to develop technical and operational competence in the planning and execution of well servicing activities across OML 30’s onshore assets.

Requirements,:

  • B.Eng. in Petroleum, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in well operations, well servicing, or production engineering.
  • IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control certification is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to work in field locations on a rotational basis and support emergency well servicing needs.

4. Well Engineer

Job Summary:

  • This role provides a structured exposure to well planning, drilling operations, and well integrity management.
  • The successful candidate will work with the Drilling & Completions team and gain field and office experience in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective wells for OML30’s onshore operations.

5. Rotating Equipment Engineer

Job Summary:

  • This HLP role provides technical support to pipeline and flowline integrity management, maintenance planning, and emergency response coordination within OML 30’s onshore operations.
  • The position is ideal for early-career engineers looking to deepen their experience in pipeline systems, corrosion monitoring, and field execution of pipeline-related activities, while supporting engineering, HSSE, and community interface processes.

Requirements:

  • B.Eng. in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in plant or oil & gas field equipment.
  • COREN or NSE membership preferred.
  • Field readiness and attention to detail essential.

6. Project Engineer

Job Summary:

  • This role is designed to provide structured exposure to project execution activities across engineering design, construction, procurement, and commissioning in an onshore upstream oil and gas environment.
  • The successful candidate will support the Engineering & Projects team in the delivery of capital and brownfield projects, gaining broad experience across the project lifecycle with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and schedule

Requirements:

  • B.Sc./B.Eng. in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in engineering or project execution within the oil & gas or related industrial sector.
  • Membership or eligibility for registration with COREN or a professional engineering institution is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to work in both field and office locations as project demands require.

7. Production Technologist

Job Summary:

  • This role is designed to provide hands-on field and office-based exposure to well optimization, production surveillance, and operational support, with the goal of developing the successful candidate into a rounded production technologist.
  • In this role within the Production Engineering team, the candidate will be introduced to the fundamentals of Production Engineering in the Oil and Gas industry.

Requirements:

  • B.Eng. in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from an accredited university.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with COREN or NSE as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T).
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience (internship or NYSC in the Oil & Gas sector is advantageous).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Software and technical software. Exposure to oilfield databases or SCADA systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to remote field locations within the Niger Delta for hands-on well-related activities.

8. Production Geologist

Job Summary

  • This HLP role provides hands-on exposure to subsurface mapping, well correlation, and field development activities, aimed at developing the candidate into a competent production geologist.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team, the candidate will support reservoir characterization and contribute to maximizing recovery from OML-30’s mature assets.
  • The successful candidate will join a competent team of geoscientists responsible for subsurface interpretation, to maximize the value of our oil and gas assets to both enhance hydrocarbon production and optimize field development (plans).
  • He/she will mainly work in the Subsurface team and with the Petroleum Engineering Functions to address technical deliverables as assigned by the team leadership.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. at 2nd Class upper division in Geology, Geophysics, or Geosciences or related field from an accredited university. M. Sc. is an advantage
  • Mandatory NYSC discharge certificate
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience (including internship & NYSC in the Oil & Gas sector is advantageous).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset.

10. Petrophysicist

Job Summary:

  • This HLP role provides hands-on exposure to formation evaluation workflows, core-log integration, and reservoir property modelling to build expertise as a Petrophysicist.
  • The successful candidate will join a competent team of petrophysicists responsible for integrating multidisciplinary data to generate and mature near-, mid- and long-term oil adding opportunities.
  • He/she will work in the Subsurface team and with other Petroleum Engineering Functions to address technical deliverables as assigned by the team leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree at 2nd Class Upper division, in Engineering, Physical Sciences or other related courses.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in Engineering, Geoscience, or other related disciplines.

11. Measurement Engineer

Job Summary

  • This HLP role supports field and office activities related to hydrocarbon measurement, meter calibration, and data assurance.
  • The candidate will gain hands-on experience with flow measurement technologies, supporting production allocation and regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

  • B.Eng. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Petroleum Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in field operations or measurement roles.
  • COREN registration is an advantage.
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills.
  • Safety-conscious with willingness to work in field environments.

12. Category Buyer Technical

Job Summary:

  • This role is designed to support the procurement of wells engineering, drilling, subsurface equipment, fabrication, rotating equipment, and services across our production and project assets.
  • The successful candidate will contribute to category strategy execution, support procurement and contract processes, and work closely with internal stakeholders to meet business needs in line with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • This role is designed for early-career professionals with 3–5 years of experience in technical buying within the oil and gas or related engineering industries

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
  • Professional Certifications (Desirable)
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) certification (Level 2–3) or equivalent.
  • Basic technical or project management certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in procurement, contracts, or technical buying roles.
  • Exposure to sourcing, buying, or vendor management for engineering services, equipment, or oil and gas materials.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP procurement tools and document handling.
