Job Summary:

  • To plan, implement and pilot all Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental related policies, and activities in line with the corporate vision and policy of the organization.
  • Responsible for reinforcing the implementation and maintenance of the organization’s QHSE management system and providing technical advice and performance supervision to QHSE functional representatives.
  • The Manager, of QHSE ensures compliance with the regulatory and statutory standards and achieves agreed business outcomes and performance targets that represent industry-leading practice.
  • Making sure that high-performance standards and targets are met while supervising and facilitating existing corporate QHSE policies to support the company’s QHSE management system to maintain, review and update the QHSE policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Determines the strategic direction and work priorities (in conjunction with the management) for the continuous improvement of Falcon HSEQ management programme and systems.
  • Advises management and assists with the implementation of new or existing HSEQ related legislation, rules and Company standards to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of Company and contractors’ sites.
  • Full responsibility for Company preparations for annual HSEQ audits and Quality Assurance
  • Ensure that the quality management system is in use within the organization, and it is updated in accordance with emerging trends in the industry. Continuously Review existing plans and practices and advise management on required corrective action to ensure generative and effective QHSE system is achieved.
  • Advises line managers of health, safety, environmental and quality matters and manages this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day-to-day processes and operations.
  • Develop risk based operational QHSE manuals, plans and procedure to achieve company’s objectives and sustainable competitiveness. Ensure Company Business Management System is effective and complies with Nigerian statutory and regulatory requirements including the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 45001:2018
  • To plan, disseminate, implement and continuously develop the environmental management system.
  • Promotes and ensures conformance to the ISO 14001 procedures.
  • Facilitates and ensures the smooth transition process of Falcon’s QMS, OHSMS and EMS certifications.
  • Liaise with external (National and international) and government agencies (Fire Service, LASIMRA, DPR, Fed & state MoE etc. and other third-party agencies) on the quality assurance, health and safety issues, to ensure workplace locations remain safe, free from hazard and that gas processing operations remain environmentally friendly.
  • Set up emergency procedures & provide 24hour Emergency response to operational issues which include injuries, near misses, environmental upset conditions, etc.
  • Follow up results of external audits and ensure that the corrective actions are set up, executed, and follow up the internal corrective actions up to their closing.
  • Manage Security related functions in the organization not limited to Maintaining relationship with all security agencies that are relevant to the organization’s operation, ensuring that access controls at all office locations are in place and in use and reviewing to ensuring that all security plans in place at all office locations are adequate
  • Primary responsibility to maintaining the companies for ISO Safety certification.
  • Assisting TS managers in provision of technical safety services (HAZOPs, SIL, HAZID, Lessons Learnt and other PHA methodology) which include but not limited to review of documentation, mark-up of P&IDs, scribing for session, preparation of report and follow- up till completion.
  • Formulate of HSEQ policies, plans, procedures and ensure its implementation.
  • Promotes quality achievement, establish and maintain effective communication strategy for quality awareness and performance improvement throughout the organization.
  • Provide corporate quality performance statistical reports for Management information.
  • Bring together staff of different disciplines and drive the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures.
  • Primarily responsible for carrying out quality inspections, quality tests and checks on and off-site.
  • Organize internal quality audits and review meeting.
  • Assist in formulation of HSE policies, plans, procedures and ensure its implementation.
  • Facilitate meetings and other forums to discuss HSE and quality matters and ensures plant/machineries; workspace environment, hazardous substances, as well as field/contruction sites.
  • Monitor implementation of QHSE audits, review plans and technical integrity verification activities.
  • Facilitate quality risks workshops, equipment criticality and quality intervention workshops, formal root cause analysis session and evaluate quality observations, non-conformances, and opportunity to ensure achievement of business objectives
  • Lead and Coordinate QHSE awareness activities to improve organizational behaviour towards QHSE delivery such as lunch and learn sessions, quarterly quality newsletter and quarterly quality champion recognition and award program.
  • Establish QHSE strategy required to achieve sustainable quality culture in the organization operation and projects. Ensure goal zero on safety, occupational health and environment incidents for all operations and project.
  • Ensure the follow up of the implementation of improvement actions raised and validated in the various systems and present a summary status report to the GMTS monthly.
  • Prepare and deliver annual goals, task and targets, roadmap and budget to achieve lost time incident (LTI) free operations for CGS, Projects and Head office activities. Implement roadmap and report key performance indicators against QHSE objectives
  • Facilitate quality risks workshops, equipment criticality and quality intervention workshops, formal root cause analysis session and evaluate quality observations, non- conformances, and opportunity to ensure achievement of business objectives.
  • Define QHSE training requirements in collaboration with the Head of HR plans. Provision of induction, training instruction and support to staff in relevant areas of QHSE.
  • Ensure that the quality management system is in use within the organization, and it is updated in accordance with emerging trends in the industry. Continuously Review existing plans and practices and advise management on required corrective action to ensure generative and effective QHSE system is achieved.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 15 years post-graduate experience in a reputable engineering/oil and gas company.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office suites, & Internet and email.
  • Communication and Interpersonal skill.
  • Project management skills.
  • Other certifications: Professional certifications/memberships e.g. Occupational Health and Safety, NEBOSH, Industrial Occupational Health and Safety from Nigeria Institute of Safety Professionals (NIPS) etc. are added advantage, ISO Lead Auditor.
