Responsibility:

  • Provide discipline reviews and inputs for mechanical, equipment, piping, and related scopes during the design phase of a project.
  • Supervise contractors during the execution of projects and ensure all mechanical, equipment, and piping work scope are delivered following the approved designs, standards, and regulatory provisions.
  • Supervise contractors to ensure mechanical, piping, and equipment deliverables are achieved safely in upholding corporate HSE goals and objectives.
  • Manage and supervise miscellaneous work scope and packages for mechanical and piping works for facility improvements.
  • Work in the development and review of work method statements, JHA, and other relevant documents for the execution of the project within the mechanical and piping disciplines.
  • Provide Facilities Engineer’s support to ensure all Oil & Gas assets are available for maximum facility uptime.

  • Provide Facilities Engineer’s support to ensure all Oil & Gas assets are available for maximum facility uptime.
  • Contribute to the department’s annual work program presentation and budget preparations.
  • Support in providing technical inputs, directions, and recommendations for facility improvements.
  • Perform other duties and activities to ensure facility compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Report (timely) activities and projects under areas of responsibility, to highlight progress, constraints, and recommendations.
  • Work in planning, contracting, and site supervision of the execution of major plant turnaround maintenance activities.
  • Provide Discipline support to fulfill regulatory requirements regarding Oil and Gas assets.
  • Perform preliminary and basic piping and mechanical engineering designs for facility improvements and as may be required of function.
  • Participate actively in Departmental meetings, including in the review of minutes of such meetings.
  • Support and interphase with internal support teams during the contracting phase for a project or related activities.
  • Any other work related to the business as assigned by the GM of Engineering & Projects or other Senior Management.
  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Ensuring designs and specifications for mechanical equipment, piping, and related disciplines conform to Engineering Standards and Regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, industry codes, health, and safety standards.
  • Ensuring that projects and tasks assigned to the function are completed safely, with no variation, and on schedule.
  • Compilation and submission of daily progress reports of active projects and other activities within the function.
  • Computation and reporting of progress measurements weekly, showing planned versus actual; S-curves, etc. for major projects and activities assigned to function.
  • Supervising staff deployed to work within the function.
  • Intervening as a Facilities Engineer to debottleneck and support the operations team in ensuring maximum uptime of the production facilities.
  • Ensure that all equipment and piping have adequate structural support to prevent damage or failure from static or dynamic loading.

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. or equivalent in any Engineering discipline and with
  • A minimum of 12 years working experience in Oil & Gas Facilities management and Project Management.

Experience & Skills:

  • Knowledge of applied engineering principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas HSE policies and practices.
  • Knowledge of Industry Regulations and Standards governing the Oil & Gas Facilities.
  • Knowledge of oil & gas industry construction standards and codes such as International Electrical Code (IEC), National Electrical Code (NEC), American Petroleum Institute (API), American National Standard Institute (ANSI), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
  • Knowledge of mechanical and piping engineering designs, standards, and code of practices.
  • Experience in the development of piping and mechanical engineering deliverables.
  • Ability to read and understand Piping drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand Mechanical equipment drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of predictive, preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills.
  • Ability to use AUTOCAD and other surface engineering software tools
