Job Summary

The ideal Remedial Field Officer is responsible for the execution of recommended recovery/remediation actions and procedures on identified and assigned obligors in line with the Bank’s policies and strategic intent and liaison with relevant stakeholders for effectiveness, efficiency, obligor retention, and zero litigations.

Responsibilities

  • Issue and deliver demand notices to identified/ assigned defaulters based on available information and insights.
  • Carry out visitation, verification, and confirmation of the address of assigned Obligors.
  • Ensure recovery of non-performing loan categories/accounts based on monthly/quarterly/ yearly assigned targets.
  • Liaise with 3rd parties/external agents (debt recovery agents, law enforcement agents, etc.) for loan recoveries while avoiding litigations and reputational risks.
  • Render weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly recovery reports with relevant suggestions for Management considerations via the Unit Head/Team Lead.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree/HND in any discipline
  • 1-2 years’ experience in job-related role is required.
  • Be able to adapt to environmental changes in the industry as related to Remedial processes and Collections.
  • Possess great writing and speaking skills.
  • Possess good negotiation skills.
  • Know industry policies and extant rules on customer engagement.
  • Be able to engage objectively with emotional intelligence and possess mild temperament.
  • Should possess positivity, resilience, drive, and resourcefulness.
  • Should be shrewd and tactful in relating with people.
