Job Summary

Play a crucial role in providing support and services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges within the communities. Their work focuses on outreach, prevention, and intervention, aiming to enhance the mental health and well-being of community members.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide education and awareness programs to the community on mental health issues, stigma reduction, and available resources.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions on stress management, coping skills, and mental health promotion.
  • Assist individuals in navigating the mental health system and accessing appropriate services, including counseling, therapy, and psychiatric care.
  • Respond to mental health crises within the community, offering immediate support and connecting individuals to appropriate crisis services
  • Collaborate with emergency services and other crisis intervention teams to ensure a coordinated response.
  • Develop and implement mental health prevention programs, targeting specific populations or issues within the community.
  • Work towards integrating individuals with mental health challenges into the community by promoting social inclusion and reducing isolation.

Requirements:

  • Specific certifications or training in mental health or community services
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Demonstrating empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to relate to people with various experiences is crucial.
  • Workers may need to respond to changing situations, crises, or evolving community needs.
  • Relevant experience in community service, mental health, or related fields. This could include volunteer work or internships
