Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as Deputy Provost. The Deputy Provost will play a critical role in supporting the Provost in the strategic planning and administration of academic affairs. The Deputy Provost will be a key member of the leadership team, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the designated campus and acting on behalf of the Provost as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Provost in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance academic programs, research, and student success.
- Provide leadership and guidance to academic departments and faculty in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships both within the institution and with external stakeholders.
- Represent the institution at various academic and professional forums, promoting its mission and values.
- Serve as the Head of the designated campus, ensuring the smooth functioning of all academic and administrative activities.
- Report directly to the Provost and collaborate closely with other senior administrators to achieve institutional goals.
- Act on behalf of the Provost in the designated campus, representing the College’s interests and implementing strategic initiatives.
- Execute duties assigned by the Provost, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing institutional needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive campus culture, promoting collaboration, innovation, and excellence among faculty, staff, and students.
- Provide leadership and support in the development and implementation of campus-specific policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Must be a Registered Nurse/Midwife with a minimum of a second-class Honors Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Must possess a teaching qualification (such as a PGDE/Diploma in Education Nurse/Midwife Educator) and be licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Must have a minimum of 15 years of relevant working/teaching experience as a Nurse, with at least two (2) years at a managerial level, preferably in a tertiary institution.
Requirements:
- Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in ICT and a satisfactory ability in relevant basic digital skills applicable to modern management systems.
- Candidates must exhibit reputable character/behavior and be physically fit for the intended role.
- Candidates are required to submit a Suitability Statement for the post they are applying for along with their Curriculum Vitae (CV), and they will also be expected to provide the originals of their certificates and other relevant credentials during the interview process.
Terms of Appointment:
- The position is on tenure appointment for a period of four (4) years in the first instance.
- Following satisfactory performance, re-appointment for another period of four years only may be considered.
