Rivers State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Collins Akhayera and Christian John who specialized in manufacturing fake alcoholic drinks.
The Police Public Relations Officer Mr Nnamdi Omoni while briefing Newsmen at the Command Headquarters in PortHarcourt said operatives of Puff Adder stormed a hideout at Eligbolo Rumuokoro in Obio Akpor Local Government Area following a tip off and arrested the two suspects while others escaped.
Mr Omoni revealed that the suspects produced assorted wines , spirits and several Alcoholic beverages.
Mr Omoni however advised members of the public to be mindful of where they purchase goods especially consumable items.
The prime suspect Collins Akhayera who confessed to the crime said he supply the products to customers in Warri at Delta state and also have a stand in Oil Mill market.
The suspect explained that he bought the bottles he used in repacking the drinks from Aba market in Abia state and had been in the business for two years.
He claimed that his product was not harmful to health as alleged by the police.
Exhibits recovered includes ; Assorted Wines , Spirits and several alcoholic beverages
