About NLNG Overseas Post Graduate Scholarship

The initiative was introduced in October 2012 and is currently overseen by the British Council.

The inaugural group of 10 recipients and subsequent group of 13 recipients departed for the United Kingdom in 2013 and 2014 respectively to pursue their studies.

This scholarship holds a value ranging from $60,000 to $69,000, contingent upon the chosen course of study, and is applicable to programs offered at prestigious educational institutions in the UK.

The covered disciplines include Environmental Studies, Engineering, Management, Accountancy, Economics, Information Technology, Geology, Banking, Law, and Medicine.

Scholarship Worth

The Overseas Post Graduate Scholarship provides USD 67,500 per recipient for their studies.

The exact amount awarded per recipient may range between approximately USD 45,000 and USD 67,500, depending on the chosen course of study.

Eligibility for Scholarship:

In order to qualify for the scholarship, you must fulfill the following criteria:

Obtain provisional admission from any of the listed UK institutions in one of the following disciplines: Renewable Energy, Engineering, Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, Management Sciences, Information Technology, Law, and Medicine.

The eligible institutions are the University of Aberdeen and the University of Cranfield.

  • Hold a minimum of a Second Class (upper division) in a relevant field of study.
  • Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
  • Achieve a minimum IELTS score of 8.0, with no less than 7.0 in each element.
  • Be below 30 years of age at the time of application.
  • Resides in Nigeria and intend to return to Nigeria upon completing the proposed program of study.
  • Provide a letter of identification from the respective Local Government Council.
  • Submit a consent letter from your employer (if currently employed).
  • Possess an international passport that is valid for at least one year from September 2023.
  • Be able to obtain a UK Tier-4 student visa if selected.
  • Demonstrate evidence of availability to travel in September 2023 if chosen.
  • Not have any direct relation as a spouse, child, ward, or immediate family member of Nigeria LNG Limited staff.

How to Apply

It is mandatory for all applications to include scanned and uploaded copies of the following documents:

  • Bio-data page of your international passport.
  • First Degree certificate.
  • NYSC certificate.
  • Provisional admission letter from the specified UK institutions.
  • IELTS result.
  • Letter of identification from the Local Government Area (LGA).
  • Consent letter from your employer (if applicable).

Applications that fail to meet the following criteria will result in disqualification:

  • Incomplete attachments.
  • Failure to adhere to the criteria specified in the advertisement.
  • Submission of falsified documents.
