The Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Renaissance, TotalEnergies, and AENR Joint Venture, is delighted to announce the seventeenth annual NNPC/Renaissance JV Niger Delta Postgraduate Overseas Scholarship for applicants from Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers States.

About the Scholarship Scheme

The scholarship programme is to provide postgraduate study opportunities in courses relevant to the oil and gas industry for qualified students from the Niger Delta States.

  • Robert Gordon University
  • Newcastle University

Eligible Courses

1. Newcastle University

  • MSc Robotics and AI
  • MSc Sustainable Chemical Engineering
  • MSc Environmental Engineering
  • MSc Data Science and AI

2. University of Aberdeen

  • MSc Geophysics
  • MSc Safety & Reliability Engineering for Oil & Gas
  • MSc Advanced Chemical Engineering
  • MSc Integrated Petroleum Geoscience
  • MSc Data Science
  • MSc Renewable Energy Engineering

3. Robert Gordon University

  • MSc Advanced Computing
  • MSc Oil & Gas Engineering
  • MSc Drilling and Well Engineering
  • MSc Renewable Energy Engineering

Requirements:

  • Display intellectual ability and leadership potential.
  • Have an adequate standard of English (at least 6.5 IELTS) and meet the university’s language requirements.
  • Have been offered admission to one of the eligible courses.
  • Hold (or expect to hold before commencement) a Second Class Upper Honours degree.
  • Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme by September 2026.
  • Be an indigene of Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, or Rivers State.
  • Not have previously studied in the UK or another developed country.
  • Be aged 21–28 years by 30 September 2026.
  • Hold a Nigerian international passport valid until December 2027.

Method of Application

  • Submit an application for admission to one of the participating universities.
  • Scholarship application forms become available through the university after admission.
  • Universities shortlist applicants and conduct interviews before final selection.
  • Successful applicants are notified by 31 July 2026.

Scholarship covers:

  • Tuition fees
  • Economy-class return flight
  • UK visa contribution
  • Living expenses

Please note:

  • Employees of Renaissance, its affiliates, or their immediate family members are not eligible.
  • Applicants must meet admission requirements of the universities.
  • Living expenses are based on the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) rates.
  • The scholarship is non-commercial and cannot be transferred.
  • Renaissance provides medical insurance in line with UK Student Visa requirements.
