Chief Dr. Onuekwa declared winner as Emohua elect New Monarch

Following the death and burial of the Nne-Nwe-eli Emohua, Amb. Vincent Chituru Benson Okor, the Mgboh Royal House has elected Eze Godspower Bellcrest Onuekwa, as the new Paramount Ruler of Emohua Kingdom.

According to Chief Romeo Abah, Chief Ngozi Stephen, Chief Samuel Ikechi and other 10 chiefs who spoke to News men said the selection of Onuekwa came through election between Chief Sampson Ozuru and Eze Barr. Godspower Onuekwa against other contestants.

At the end of the election, Onuekwa got 12 votes, while Chief Sampson Ozuru got eight votes.
Onuekwa was therefore declared winner and Eze Chief Sampson Ozuru congratulated him as the new Paramount Leadership/Nne-nwe-eli Emohua the Mgboh XIII.

According to the chiefs, the mantle of leadership has fallen on Onuekwa, they charged him to rule with the fear of Almighty father, to unite all aggrieved persons, to work and unite everybody for the betterment of Emohua Kingdom, most importantly to bring back Emohua to its lost glory.
The chiefs assured Onuekwa of their support and loyalty to ensure he moves everybody forward and plead with some persons to shield their sword and join hands with the new paramount ruler/Nne-nwe-eli Emohua to move Emohua Kingdom forward.

Responding, the new Paramount Ruler promised to work with the fear of Almighty father while ensuring to work to unite and bring back the lost glory of Emohua just as the chiefs had spoken.

Onuekwa who is currently the Vice President of Ogbakor Ikwerre Cultural Organisation Worldwide and former President, Ikwerre Development Association (IDA) and holder of Ph.D in Law, Chairman and President, Bellcrest Insurance Broker, a royal prince of Emohua, assured the people that he will meet with those who are aggrieved to work for the good of all.

He however, made it known that 200 years ago, his immediate grandfather was the Paramount Ruler of Emohua and in 1970 his own immediate father also sat on the royal stool as the Paramount Ruler of Emohua.
He described the election as a very competitive one and therefore, expressed happiness that at the end of the day, he came out victorious and termed it as peoples-oriented.

He further used the medium to thank the people for finding him worthy for the position and promised to do his very best to ensure there is relative peace in the area, even as he holds that during his tenure it is only the will of God that will prevail, pointing out that God is the overall ruler and that he is just a mere leader who will not only take decisions alone but will resolve to collective ideas in favour of his people.

He however concluded that his emergence was not by chance, but the will of God and has the backing of the masses. He promised not to betray the confidence and trust reposed on him.
