Concerns as Rivers State Police Command keep mute after 24hrs of Attack on Opposition Party.

Concerns triggers as the Rivers state Commissioner of Police, CP Effiong Okon has remained mute after 24 hrs the Governorship Candidate of All Progressive Congress APC in Rivers State, Tonye Cole Escaped Assassination at the Port Harcourt Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to get his true copy of CTC Documents to enable him file his petition at the Election Tribunal.

Recall that members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Rivers State led by the Chairman of Ikwerre local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike had protested at the Commissions headquarters in Port Harcourt demanding a joint inspection of material leading to a heavy Traffic on many major roads, vehicles were damaged with multiple gunshots fired into the air by security agencies on both sides of the APC and the PDP.

The violence broke out at the GRA junction on Aba road in Port Harcourt in the morning when some placard-carrying protesters from the PDP stopped the APC governorship candidate, Tonye Cole from going to the INEC office to inspect election materials. The protesters led by The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government, Samuel Nwanosike and the Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Edison Ehie who arrived earlier to block the roads leading to the INEC office demanding a joint inspection of INEC materials.

The APC governorship candidate was later whisked away from the venue of the PDP protest by his security detail to avoid a mob attack.

Also, armed thugs barricaded the APC office on Woji Road in GRA where he was taken, preventing him and other APC members from leaving.
